A Summer of Transformation: Celebrating Baptisms at Camp

Summer camp at Youth Encounter is always a special time, filled with fun, connection, and opportunities for growth. But this past summer, we witnessed something truly extraordinary: three incredible young women chose to publicly declare their faith in Jesus Christ through baptism. It was a powerful and moving experience for everyone involved.

“After a camp, my heart for God changed and my attitude changed. I began to recognize the true greatness of the grace and salvation that Jesus had on offer for me.”

These three young women, who have been part of our teen camp community for some time, each shared their personal testimonies – stories of how they came to know Jesus. Their words were inspirational, revealing hearts deeply touched by God's love and a genuine desire to live for Him. They spoke openly about the struggles and journeys that led them to this moment, their vulnerability and honesty resonating with all who listened.

One of the girls shared, “I often found myself in a strange and inconsistent routine of trying to put the Lord first as I was easily manipulated by school, friends, and sport and lots of other things in life I would put above Him.” Their journeys were unique, but their shared desire to follow Christ was evident.

The girls' families joined us for this special occasion, witnessing their baptisms and sharing in prayers for their continued growth in faith. It was a beautiful display of community support and love. We've had the privilege of walking alongside these young women, building relationships with them, and witnessing their faith grow over time. Seeing them take this significant step was a true privilege.

“I want to get baptized because I want to be closer to Him, and getting it done at camp feels right as that’s where I found God.”

"Today, I am choosing to prioritize God and aligning my life with His plan and purpose," one of the girls proclaimed. Their simple yet profound declaration, "I wanna live for Jesus," demonstrated their heart posture. Their words were a testament to their faith, a powerful reminder of the transformative power of God's love.

"One of my favourite things about camp is the awesome community and environment. I will always remember getting baptized in the lake"

These baptisms were a powerful reminder of the transformative work happening at Youth Encounter camps. We are so grateful for the opportunity to journey with these young people as they discover and deepen their relationship with God. We celebrate their decisions and look forward to seeing the incredible things God will do in their lives. We are excited to continue supporting them and all the young people who come to our camps. To God be the glory!
